Frequently Asked Questions

GRACE UCC FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

When is service and how long does it last?

Service is normally at 10:30, occasionally we will have an earlier service which will be announced ahead of time.   Service will typically run 45 minutes to an hour.

Who may receive communion?

Anyone who regards Jesus as their savior may join in our communion, regardless of denominational affiliation.  Youth that have been confirmed may also join.

How often do you perform communion?

We enjoy the bread and the cup 8 times per year.  The times are selected to run with special events such as Ash Wednesday and Pentecost.

Who can become a member of Grace?

The community of Grace welcomes anyone who has a sincere faith in Christ and a spirit reflective of his kindness and love.  If you would like to become a member, please speak with Pastor Patrick following worship.  A class on UCC identity and history is available if you would like it, but is not required.  If you are currently a member of a different church, a letter of transfer would be useful.  If you are not currently a member of any church, we will welcome you in via an affirmation of faith.

Am I welcome to come and join in worship as a visitor without joining?

You are welcome to enjoy services as a visitor for as long as you wish.  However, we welcome you to speak with the pastor if you feel you wish to join the church officially.

Are there certain things I’m expected to believe at Grace?

We require nothing beyond faith in Christ and respect for the word of the Bible.  You are welcome to be of any religious or political persuasion and join in worship without judgment.
